fuel gauge question

I am off to the parts store to get some supplies for my fuel gauge installation. I have a few questions. Do I need to relieve the fuel pressure from the system? I am installing the ITP fuel line to the pressure port on the fuel bowl. Do I need to get all the fuel out of the bowl first? This is the first time I have ever installed a fuel pressure gauge on a diesel. I got the isspro ev2 electrical fuel gauge. Thanks

With the key off, you won't have fuel pressure.. You'll have some fuel that'll drain from the test port, but it's no big deal.. make sure to bleed all the air out of the ITP line after the sender is hooked up.. Nice setup you got..

Thanks! I have The gauge installed in the pod. Now all I need to do is hook her up to the fuel port. Thanks to you I have the answers I needed.

I did mine while I was changing filters. I always suck out the fuel from the upper bowl before installing the new element. It is easy enough to do with a turkey baster. Also, you could also just put a towel under the connection, go slow and you will soak up most of it (but you probably will not carch all of it). I hate letting diesel fuel just flow to "wherever" in the engine well. Be prepared, bleeding the air out of the line will spray fuel - I used a towel for this too and I still got it more places than I was happy about!

x2 what william said - the isspro's are nice
