When I step on the brakes to come to a stop the steering wheel wobbles back and forth. I have new tires on the truck so what else could it be? It also does not happen all the time.
New set of front rotors should cure it, mine did the same thing and a new set fixed it. Thought it was odd on mine that it did not do that all the time too.....you would think warped is warped.....and it would not go come and go.
Depending on where you live, temperature can play a big factor in warping.....if its really cold out and you heat that rotor up quickly it is more prone to warping.....definately worth getting looked at even if you dont replace them.....
I had the same problem. I ended up replacing the right front hub bearing. While I was doing that, I found a busted cord in one of my front tires. I also did the brakes while I was there. So, take your pick. It could have been any one of the three. I guess what I'm saying is to check everything. Just my two cents.
The wife just came back from a road trip and described the same thing, she had to brake hard and said the wheel shuddered. I thought maybe it was the ABS, but now will yank a wheel and see what's what up front.
My old Expedition got the steering wiggles about every 30K miles that required a rotor shaving until they just needed replacing. Should have thought of that first
