I am thinking about purchasing a 1979 f-150 from a cousin of mine. He has 2 other trucks and he knows that I want a truck to play with. He bought it in 1985 w/about 50k miles. It has about 90-100k on the 400m that he put in it. Anyways I am trying to figure out what the thing is worth.
-4x4
-400m
-4-speed w/ granny
-152k miles
-really rusty on wheelwells
-a/c cold as heck
-ranger pkg.
-am radio,
-pretty decent shape considering it is an ex-farm truck
I would guess about 1500.00 to 2500.00. What
condition is the drive train in? It sounds like
it has some nice options (ranger package and ac).
If you have any questions give me a e-mail. I
am in the middle a cab and bed swap on my 79
f150 4x4.
I left out some stuff, it is a reg cab long bed. The bed is pretty much shot. the cab is fine, not even corner rust. i have driven it several times and it appears ok. Brakes are pretty gone though. no leaks anywere and he had to put a new rear end in it and he put a 4:10 with LS. I was happy about that. I am a little scared about the differential though. It shifts into 4x4 pretty hard. Might that be a problem?
