no spark while cranking
On an 86 bronco with the 351. . . just did a motor change. It won't spark while the started is engaged. Sounds confusing but just as you engage the starter, and just after you let it go. . . it will spark. And to confirm it will cough once when you let go of the starter. So. . . any ideas? Oh and the wiring harness going to the distributor. . . has a single wire connector that I can't remember where it goes and don't see anything for it. The capacitor is connected so its not that. Ideas? Thanks.

Negative coil voltage was virtually non existent, 1.5 volts. Did a lot of DS2 tests recommended on here and checked all kinds are wires. Seems like cleaning posts and connection on the starter solenoid did the job. Shes runnin like a top now.
