OK so this has been happening for a while, pretty much since I got the truck but it is really starting to annoy me. I have a 99 5.4 flareside. Everytime it is wet meaning snow or rain the truck clunks really loud going around corners. It is just one loud clunk and it only does it when it's wet. I have no idea why but it doesn't sound good. Like I said its been doing this for a while anybody no where I should look. Thanks
I changed the end links not that long ago and I was under the truck the other day and they appear to be fine. It seems like it is coming from the rear of the truck
i had a similar noise a year ago and it turned out to be the tool box wasn't fastened tight enough . i guess it would slide easier on the box liner when it was wet. tightened it up and no more noise.
I have a 99 F150 and I heard the same thing a few weeks ago when I used the truck to haul a snowmobile trailer. I went around a corner when it was snowing out and CLUNCK. It sounded like a big piece of ice got jammed in the wheel well but it wasn't. I haven't had it happen in quite a while but then, again, I don't use the truck that much.
Sorry I can't help you but I will be following this item since it does apply to my 99 Ford.
You might want to take a good look at the leaf springs. It's not unheard of for the to break and try to jump out of the pack. I had one let go about 2 years ago. Look for cracks in the mounting pad area.
