Coolant/hose
okay so I drove to school today. parked there for like 2 hours. when i came back out i popped the hood to show someone something. i noticed the upper and lower rad hoses were both sucked completely shut. i just flushed and filled coolant like a month ago. when i took the cap off it looked like brown mud at the top. When i ran it for a minute they looked fine. It was low on coolant i probably added like 2 quarts. I just replaced the hoses an hour ago and haven't noticed it do it yet. just wondering what was cause it other than old hoses.

don't use stop leak.
causes more problems then it solves.
thermostat could now be clogged.

the brown is rust and crap from the radiator and such. Its broke free when you flushed it, and is now floating about, its normal for these truck.
I'd bet the cap is bad and causing the system to build a vac.
Good Luck

I agree with the rad cap. Also, it's a pretty cheep part to throw at it to eliminate it as the cause before you go do more major things.
