What items do i need to do a solid axle swap on my 92 f150. Has anyone done one on a 92-96 f150? If so can someone post or pm me the list of items needed to do this conversion.
Thank you very much. I figure that if i am going to make my truck 4wd might as well make it worth my while. Also what type of lift kit works with a Solid axle since the ones for my year truck wouldnt work for the f150 version
Karl (kjett) has done a SAS on a 96 F150. Real bad truck but its slow.
Youll need a 78/79 F150 Dana 44 front axle assembly to include: drag link and tie rod, track bar, radius arms and brackets and the lower coil spring cups. Im pretty sure Karl kept his factory 96 upper spring buckets but Id wait on him to fill you in there.
Lift springs would come from a 73-79 F150 as well. I recommend Deavers.
thanks yeah i was just going to do ttb on it but honestly if i want it how i want it to be in the end i am going to need a sas in order to handle the tires and some of the places i go i am going to need a solid front axle
i thought so and i was reading on 9 ford 5 s sas conversion thread that you can use your ttb rad arm brackets for the sas as long as you use the ttb bushings This will make things a whole lot easier if its true.

You probly could but It's gonna need to be moved cause the 70's rad arms are longer and depending on how much lift you use you might want them to drop lower.
Also, the 78/79 drag link is too long for the newer trucks, use a 90's 4x4 f350 drag link in combo with the 78 tie rod.
