steering problems
back in december i posted a problem i was having with the steering of my f350 diesel, 2006. it snapped back and forth especially when cold, not all the time but intermintinly . we discussed it at length and user ev10 also had posted the same problem with his excursion. i was heading out on a long road trip from ny to fla, and back. i took the advice of taking as much ps fluid out of the resevoir with a turkey baster, and replacing it with a synthetic fluid. i did this twice before leaving. it appeared to solve the problem. i also heard about problems with the ps pump being too weak. at any rate last week i had a long road trip from the nyc area to buffalo, ny about 350 one way, all 75 mph highway travel. np on the way up but on the return trip, when i was going off the highway to refuel or take a leak, the steering acted like the engine had shut down, and i had no ps. in the parking area, turning the wheel back and forth a few times and it was fine. happened at least 3 times. since then i have encountered no problems. yet i am sure on the next long trip it may return. what your take. pump?
