90w the same as 80w-90?

the book says to use 90w in the diffs, however seems that no local dist. has 90w I was told 80w-90 is the same thing now a days.

is that true?

It's basically the same, a little less stiff in colder temps is all, 75w-90, 80w-90, straight 90w, any of the three will suffice.
