Correct Transmission Lube?
My owners manual for my 1955 F-100 says to use SAE 90 lube for the transmission and rear axle. However, at the store, I only see SAE 80W-90. Is this the same thing? Thank You

I believe if it has the MT-1 rating on the container along with GL-4 and GL-5 it is safe for manual transmissions with synchronizers. Not all GL-4 and GL-5 rated oils have the MT-1 rating. The container needs to specifically say it is safe for manual transmissions.
