Engine water temperature

The 351 in my pickup has not been cooling right in my opinion. When I bought it the gauge was off like the guy said and the radiator stayed cool enough to put your hand on it and keep it there after driving long distances. Now I put a new heat sender in the block and it didnt fix the gauge. Aside from that after I drove the pickup for a short distance 6 miles and popped the hood I could hear the water boiling in the radiator and you would burn you hand big time if you put it on the radiator for a breif moment. Did my thermostat stick closed? Or is the water not circulating correctly? I would really like to get this fixed soon.

Engine water temperature

Fordman, go the least expensive route first, try a new thermostat, if that doesn't fix it, go to a radiator shop and ask about power flushing the system. Certain waters can gum up a system. I recomend using distilled water only in the system if you live in an area where the water does this.

distilled water can be hard to find, but RO (reverse osmosis) Culligan water also has no minerals in it to scale or plug up the cooling system.
