Any power loss or CEL? maybe plugged cat... see if it is glowing red hot after a drive.
maybe more like a rattle? loose heat shield, o2 sensor or air tube?
Maybe not the cat? fuel pump could be humming. they can make a lot of noise when they are wearing out. Or maybe the emissions air pump? mine is wearing out and has a hummish noise.
