clutch adjustments
Is it possible to adjust the mesh point on my clutch, and how do i do it? the truck is a 71 f100 sportcustom with a not origonal 390 and np435. what do i need to do to adjust the point at which the gears mesh, with my manual clutch all the way in it still wants to move and i have to start it out of gear.

Yes, all manual clutches are adjustable. There should be a trunion and nut adjustment at one end of your equalizer z-bar (the dufer that the rod from the clutch pedal is attached to. In your case the top of the z-bar should be moved forward to give you more clutch travel. When correctly adjusted you should have about an inch of free travel on the pedal before before effort is required to further depress the pedal. This is important to ensure the throwout bearing does not remain in contact with the pressure plate when the clutch is engaged since the bearing will wear and fail rapidly.
