New Gauges
I'm in the process of putting a mildy built 460 in my 77 f150. I'm thinking since i put some much money in the engine to spend a 100-150 on some gauges to monitor the vitals of the engine. I was thinking oil pressure, water temp, and volts maybe a tranny temp gauge. But how hard are they to install and wire up? Also i was planning on reusing the cylinder head bolts but i was reading online that its not a good idea because the bolts stretch over time, so should i go with new bolts as well? Thanks

Gauges are pretty easy to install. If you follow the instructions included with the gauge fairly easy. Oil pressue (I just asked this for clarification and did some research of my own) it comes with a sender for electric or a fitting for manual, and goes directly where the existing sender is located. Easy peasy. Water temp the FE's have a thermo housing with a built in threaded port, I am not sure about your motor but again can replace the existing sender location. Voltage is simple if you follow the directions in the kit provided. You will laugh when it is done and you realize how easy it was.

haha thats kinda what i thought, the engine is 1973 460. So if i buy gauge set from Jegs will that come with all the wires and sending unit or do i need to buy that separate, becasue all it shows in the picture is 3 gauges mounted in a metal pod.

Thats the brand i was looking at, like this Auto Meter Gauge Cages for Mustang - JEGS i know it says its for a mustang but those are what i was looking at 3 gauges in a metal pod to mount on the left or right of the steering wheel
