I'm wondering if/ what you guys are hearing as far as rebates for the 6.4's when the new 6.7's come out. I'm going to be getting a 2010 250 with the 6.4 when the rebates get right. Just wondering how long it'll take for em to get that way.
I got $4500 this past Monday and I'll be getting another $1000 once I purchase a plow for the truck. I prefer to do the plow installs in house.
I'm sure the rebate promotions might vary depending on what market you live in. There are a few different Ford finance rates and rebate options available.
My experience has always been that the rebates and deals usually are best from June 1 to Sept 30. It might be different this year due to the different introduction time of the new model year. I bought my 250 last June 15.
The longer you wait, the better the deal. You will steal the trucks that take up lot space after the 2011's hit the pavement. The only issue is choice. Typically a leftover will offer heavy rebates and super low financing to clear the lot for the new models. I would say sept-oct 10 you should see some considerable discounts.

If you want the unwanted turds you could wait that long. It's all personal preference. The 2011's hit the lots in a few weeks and there wasn't a full run of '10's.
I should have went into a little more detail on my previous post and that would be what these other guys are saying and that is the selection and options will dwindle as time passes after the new model year is introduced. If you want a specific color and options you can still get a good discount early. That is why I bought mine in June. I live in a highly competitive market (D/FW) and was able to get a huge discount last summer due to the economy and overstock at the big dealers in the area. Shop around early and know what you want. When I was shopping there was a $4,000 difference between the dealers that had a large inventory and the ones with just a few. Good luck with your shopping, take your time and when the right truck and deal comes around you will know it.

I think the manufacturers have adjusted their output dramatically, and there isn't as much overstock as there used to be like in recent years. So, I'd say that would make it tougher for finding the options and the really generous rebates too.

I agree with you on that, which is why I bought last year. I saw this coming thanks to Ed Wallace. He had an article in a Sunday paper last year where he said the manufactures where caught with a lot of excess inventory and when they cleared that, they would adjust there output to have a more balanced supply to meet the demand so they wouldn't have to give so many discounts. Also he said they would gradually push up prices to be more profitable. I am still seeing dealers offering up to $11,000 off list deals here in the weekend paper. So there are still some good deals out there, you just have to shop hard and you might have to start earlier this year than normally.
I agree with you trtex, plus you need to be willing to go a little further then your local Ford dealer. Dealer trades don't always work out to being a good deal.
One other thing too. You will get a better deal if you don't have to trade something in. That is where most dealers make a bunch of money. You are at their mercy. They may give you a bunch for your vehichle, but they won't discount their's as much. Also be aware of Ford financing. They were trying to charge me 9.9% and I got 5.5% at my bank. If you take their low rate financing you will give up a considerable bit of your rebates. You will have to do the math and see what works best for you. For me, my bank was a better deal.
I think the rebates being offered right now are probably as good as they are going to get. Right now you can get from Ford Motor Company: $3500 in customer cash back, an additional $1000 bonus cash if you finance through Ford Motor, and if you're looking for a Crew Cab XLT another $1200 in XLT bonus cash. That's $5700 from Ford and from that number you can work on how much the dealer will take off.
I bought a 2010 F250 XL two weeks ago and received $5200 in rebates, the dealer then knocked a lot more off the sticker than I expected. I financed through Ford Motor to get the extra $1000 but the interest rate on the loan is a terrible (6.99%). I have to keep the loan for three months and then I will refinance. Because my credit rating is so high I should be able to refinance the loan and get somewhere around 4.5%.
This turned out to be one of the best deals I've ever worked on a new vehicle.
rebates should be available soon if not already, i bought my 08 in march of 09. the sticker was 48,000, and i paid 33,000. 7,500 in factory rebates, 7,500 in dealer rebates. they only had 2 08s left and a back lot full of 09s they needed to make room for. keep an eye on your dealers lot, when they start putting the 11s out they should mark down any 10s left. if not you could talk to a salesman, you can argue them down with the fact the 11s are the new item. good luck and hope you get a good steel...p.s. check on rates, if you give up the factory rebates a lot off times you can get 0.0% intrest rate. when i financed mine the payments where cheaper at 0.0% giving up the factory rebate that financing the 33,000 at 5.9 that was offered by ford. if you are making a large DP or planing on an early payoff you my want the higher intrest rate keeping the factory rebate. have the dealer run the payments both ways...
