Dash board lights

i posted a question about replacing dash lights, last week. only recevied replys from others wondering the same thing. i lost the lights to my fuel and oil pressure gauges on the left side of my dash, 2006 f350 diesel auto trans. wondering if anyone has replaced these before, if it can be gotten from under the dash. is it still a small bulb? or do i have to look forward to removing the whole gauge panel? Any help would help a number of us

Subscribed, as I'm one of the ones that needs to know, too.

you have to pull the cluster. just dig in it is not hard. If you have an auto trans, you have to pull the column covers off to remove the cable for the indicator.

Yes, but is it a bulb or an LED or what? Where do we get replacements?

They are regular bulbs. Small, cant remember the # off hand but a parts store should have it if. On the back of the cluster you will see small black thumbscrew type caps. Twist and pull them out, they are the bulb holders. Do yourself a favor and replace them all while you have it apart. Go to a parts store and get just the bulbs, they just pull out and push in to the caps. If you go to Ford they will sell you the bulbs in new caps at about 4 bucks a piece.

Thanks for the info! Changing all of them is a pretty good idea, too. That's what I do with brake lights and turn signals...

Any idea how many bulbs there are to replace in the gauge cluster on my '07 Lariat? I'd like to know how many to have on hand before tearing into the dash...

I just replaced the bulbs in my 01, don't know how much applies to your trucks but mine took 5 #194 bulbs. The cluster had to come out but all in all it only took 15 minuntes start to finish.
I used the instructions here to get mine apart

2004 F250 LED Dash Lighting

This is for doing an LED upgrade but I just used the directions because he has lots of pictures and I'm a little slow.....

Good luck

In my 01 the illumination lights on the cluster are the standard 194 bulbs, the ses light, 4x4, low fuel, bright light indicator, etc are type 24 if you are replacing with standard bulbs, I know orielly has bulk pack of 10 194 bulbs for cheap.

I have a 2006 F-250XL. Truck with the 5.4 V-8 gas engine. Having a time trying to find replacement Bulbs for the Dash board ( instrument panellights )for my truck. It seems that most of my local parts stores don’t carry these bulbs. Went to the local Ford Dealership, they also don’t carry this bulb, they would have to order it, and they quoted me a Price of $33.50 per bulb. Not going that route, too expensive. Any idea why these bulbs are so hard to find
