slave cylinder problems
Being the good friend that I am I am helping my buddy put a clutch and slave cylinder in his 96 F150 4x4. The problem that we are having is at the fitting where the clutch hydraulic line goes into the slave cylinder. We know about the little plastic ring that you press in with the neat little tool that come with your clutch kit, but the previous owner obviously didnt. The plastic ring was mutilated and hanging on the clutch line. Aside from cutting the line and replacing the master cykinder and hose, does anyone have any other suggestions?

You shouldn't have to replace the master cylinder. There should be a small roll pin that you pound out at the master cylinder, that seperates the line from the master cylinder. You'll probably want to replace the line anyway if it's mutilated.
