Leveling Kit

I've got a 2004 F250 4x4 with a 6.0. I'm looking for a good leveling kit. I've seen the Rough Country kit for about $309, any suggestions? Also, are there any modifications needed for the brake hoses, driveline angle, steering components, etc?

Thanks.

Good kit. I would consider a adjustable drag link. Levers tend to make the trucks dog track, about an inch. Drove me nuts too look at on my rig.Dosn't hurt tires, so it is a personal preference.

Dog tracking is when the rear tires do not travel in the exact same track as the front tires while going in a straight line. IF you drive in dirt or snow it is real easy to see just by looking at the tire prints. The rear tires will be to one side of the front tires, in the case of the leveling kits it usually pulls the front over to the left leaving the rear tires tracking to the curb side (right) of the front tires. Same as a dog they walk offset so their front legs don't hit the rear legs..Just watch sometime.
As a leveling kit raises the front end of the vehicle to make it level with the rear the track bar will pull on the axle making move to left, unless it is lengthend to compensate for the increase in vertical distance from the axle to frame.
Hope this answers your question..

I thought I would need an adjustable track bar. One concern is when towing will the truck squat in the rear with the leveling kit? I'm towing a gooseneck and boat, probably 6000 lbs.

If the load is heavy enough yes it will squat, but you can offset this with airbags. If it bothers you.

On my 04 - 350 I bought a leveling kit though Les Schwab and had them install it . I choose Super Lift cause for the cost you get drop brackets , bumpstop drop pieces, track bar fix and a set of shocks for the front. If I had it to do over I would buy the springs instead of drop brackets. When you do the brackets they remove that heavy tubing that bridges the shackles from left to right . That tubing aids in protecting the two oil coolers that are behind the bumper , without that tubing the coolers are unprotected . Just my .02cs ollllo

I baught the track bar adjuster from Les Schwab because it was cheaper, in the end I saved 20 bucks from others I found on the net. and it is not nearly as strong or convient to adjust. But I will live with it as long as it holds position. live and learn as they say..

My opinion on this .....go here..Lift kits, Leveling Kits, Body Lift kits for trucks, Jeep & SUV's look over all the leveling kits. You really only need a 2" spacer block from like daystar. You should not need new shocks.... shocks are installed before that heavy motor gets set into place so with a 2" spacer just puts it back to where it should be. I did not need to add new shocks on my 06 6.0. I also never needed a track bar. As for the rear... you can add timbrens and not have to mess around with air pressure in airbags.

Whats wrong with spacer blocks??? They have been around for a long long time...and will save you a ton of $$$$ over a complete kit......Do a search here you will see lots have used spacer blocks. Not sure what you think is wrong with spacer blocks??? Easy to install, inexpensive. I dunno!@? Its your decision and your $$$$

The spacers are for the 05 and newer with coil front springs , drop brackets 99-04 trucks . And the shocks come with kit at "no" extra cost . And like I said , if to do it all over again I would do the 2" soft ride springs and keep that beefy cross tubing to protect the oil cooler and lower radiator tank . ollllo
