standard or auto??

right now the truck im buildin to be my mudder has a standard big block zf in it. its gunna have 40" tires on it but has 4:11 gears. what do you think would be a better set up? i can drive a stick perfectly fine, most of my vehicles have been stick but i just think in the mud and slop with tires that big it might be a little hard to drive. i also plan to do some wheelin with it. do you guys think, i should change it over or leave it?

I also prefer the auto for mud and trails, hard enough to work two pedals when you're drunk
