When it is hot outside my truck starts to act up. First i tought it was vapor lock. but since it did it when it was cold too i tought it was the fuel pump. So i replaced the fuel pump in my truck thinking it was causing the truck to act up. But after i replaced it the truck started doing it again. is the duraspark box supposed to get hot during normal use? it acts like someone is turning off the key. but it will still idle and accelerate up to about 35 to 40 mph. is the brain box bad or do i need something else? Also is the back of a power steering pump supposed to ust slide onto the pump? because i needed to replace the hose's and when i took of the return line it broke the lil nipple right off. can it be replaced or am i gonna have to buy a new pump?

Probably the pickup in the distributor. Troubleshoot with ice! packed around the base of the distributor and wait 5 min. or so. Then in order the box on the inner fender.
On the pump... take the pump off and remove the rear cover, It can be replaced if plastic and if steel, braze the nipple back on.

I just got back from the ford dealership looking for a P/S resevoir. they said that ford doesnt make them any more. any one have an old truck that they are using for parts. I really need this part. The other option is to go out and buy a new pump for about $60 bucks.
