Cold Starts
Just looking for a little info... I have an '02 F250 SD 7.3 w/228K miles and I'm noticing white/blue smoke on cold morning starts. The truck has no problem cranking over and firing up it just spits out quite a bit of smoke. I have only had the usuals go wrong like batteries, alternator, CPS, and water pump. In fact, I have been very impressed with its reliability. The smoke is pretty relentless though and lasts for a minute or two usually until it idles up and the truck sounds like a jet taking off. I use Diesel Kleen every tank, but I have been noticing a rougher idle than usual. The performance of the truck has been in the 16-18 MPG range which is pretty much normal. I am running a few after market accessories like a SuperChip tuner, 4" exhaust, and an Air Raid Cold Air box, but I can't imagine any of these causing my problem(s).
What are some things that I can do or check on the rough idle problem?
Is it possibly time to change my glow plugs? injectors? GPR?
Any comments would be greatly accepted and appreciated.
