Flares to suit 1990 models

I found a site which carried moulded flares for the 1990 models a year or more ago.
They were a nice shaped rounded flare which extended the wheel arch an inch or 2 and the front finished at the same angle on top of the front bumper!
They come ready to paint and dont have any visible fixings to give a smooth look.
Well, since i re-formated the computer, i lost all my favorites and cant find which website it was!
I think it was in a mini trucking magazine or something!
Does anyone know of suppliers and manufacturers who do flares for the 1990?
Cheers
Joe

They are a bit like the bushwacker flares but are not quite as large and have a rounder wheel opening.

The only wheel well flares I liked were the ones I saw on F350Baby's truck. He said they are bushwacker street flares.

Why do you want just front ones. Are you going to a different size tire? I wouldn't put them on the front of your truck. I think it will end up looking better with out them.

I'm thinking about a set of flares for the front because i am definately upsizing the rims and tyres!!!
F350babys flares are similar to the ones i saw but are slimmer.
I need only the front flares because the rear is a flat bed!!!

Thats why I think front flares might look goofy. Just get the wheel well lip molding if you don't have it already. I don't mean the thick cheesy aftermarket one either. I suppose those thin street flares might look ok if they are painted white.

Well, i'm just in the process of organizing the purchas of a set of eagle allos 058 style 17x8 with 275x60x17 yokohama geolander H/ S-T tyres from summit!
Not sure just how much they will fill the guards but i guess i can make a decision on to flare or not to flare when i fit them!!!

Thats cool, but personally, I would go with 16 inch wheels. It looks better oun pre 97 trucks and the tires are not as expensive. If you get the Eagle Alloy wheels, get them clear coated so you don't have to polish them. I had them before and got tired of polishing them, so I went back to the OEM aluminum wheels. If I had your truck thats what I would put on it. Otherwise you will like this stuff. Its the best and easiest to use aluminum and chrome polish I have used. Oh, Definitely wait until you get new tires before deciding on flares.

If I had your truck, I would put these OEM 92-96 (97) F250 wheels on it.

Ye, purple metal polish is great!
I have a couple of bottles in my shed!!!
I ended up deciding to go with the 17s because of available tyre profile!
I didnt want anything taller than a 30 in tyre.
The current tyres are 28 in tall.
The geolanders i chose are 30 in tall
The gearing is just right as it is and i do like a slightly lower profile look!

With clear coating, do i chase up a wheel mob here to coat them or can i do it myself??

I really like those OE F250 wheels, and I bet there is a tire that is comparable size.

As far as clearcoating goes, you can do it yourself with spray cans. Just make sure you get clear coat for wheels. Regular clear coat won't work that well. Before you decide what to do check and see if you have a local wheel repair / refurbishing shop. You will probably get better results this way. We have one here called Wheel Technologies. I'm not sure how much that would cost though.

I have done them myself before and my friend has an old set of Mustang wheels from an 89 LX that I did back in the late 90s and he said they still look good. I used some wheel clearcoat in a Ford branded can. I don't know if you can still get it or not. I think Duplicolor makes something similar. You could also see what Eastwood offers.

I just found this. He talks about redoing wheels, so for yours half the work is already done. Also, if you do clear coat them don't try to do it with the tires on the wheels.

HOW TO STRIP AND CLEARCOAT ALUMINUM WHEELS

This guy likes POR15s product. I do know that the rust product they make is good, so this may be good too.

Before you order the wheels ask them if they are clearcoated or not. Maybe they started doing that now. That would be great if they did, but I bet they are still bare aluminum like the ones I had before.

Those are good looking wheels. I had them before when my truck had a small lift and 32 11.50 tires.

I don't know if you have seen it but here is an older picture of my truck with the lift and Ranch Hand bumpers.

I like it better how it is now.
