Got a head scratcher...

Ever since I bought my powerstroke I have been scratching my head. When I turn on my emergency flashers they don't work. When I turn them on though my ABS light flashes. It flashes 15 times quick and on the 16th it stays on for 2 secs then flashes quick again. Anybody know why this is happening?

One other thing, my battery light is on constantly. I have had my batteries checked by the computer at autozone and they say that my batteries are great. Any ideals on this?

Hey Kyle you may want to have the alternator checked too. I would not rely on the technical expertise of auto zone employees. how old are those batteries? they have to energize the glow plugs (alotta amps) along with turn the starter against the compression of a powerstroke. the batteries may be good enough to fool the "computer" @ autozone. but if after lighting the glow plugs and turning the starter the volts drop enough to maybe not fire. you having a problem getting it to fire at all?

No problem starting. The batteries are interstates with 850 CCA that are less than a year old. I had the alternator checked at the same time and they said it is good. I hooked up a volt meter to it and it read 14.1 volts.

Sounds like a bad relay to me as well.

Somebody would have to provide some relay checking info on here though. I'm not 100% sure how to tell somebody to check a relay. I know how I would do it, but I'm not going to advise others to do it that way.

But yea, the flashers are ran by a relay, so you probably have a bad relay, thus the ABS light comes on, tied into the breaking system.
That informs you its a signal or braking problem.

that is my thoughts.

could switch them around, 1 for the emergency flasher's and 1 for the turn signal, if they change, one's bad, there cheap in cost.
