Was looking to replace the wheel covers with a nice set of rims . The current size is 16x7 ,was looking on craigslist and found rims from newer F-250 and 350's 8 lug in 17" and 18" . My question is will the bolt pattern from the F-series superduties work on my van in the 17" and 18" ?

 

I do not know the bolt pattern on the newer vans. You could measure it fairly easily.

The trucks 1996 and under are 8 x 6.5

The trucks 1997 and up are 8 x 170 mm (measures to 6 3/4")

Thanks for the info rebocardo, the van measures 6.5 so the F-series wheels will not fit .

 

The van bolt pattern is the" old style" 8x6.5....its the same for 8 bolt Dodge and Chevy.I could never figure out why Ford made the switch and why they only switched the 250/350 series

What size lift you runnin to fit that size tire, those rims are sweet, and due to 17 being the standard size for the 3/4 ton trucks, you can find the correct load tire.
A vanner has a dually Quigly 4x4 conversion Econoline, he swapped to the semi-truck rims and tires, big rims/tires and they are designed for like a million miles.

I guess now that they're so popular, they have the E now, what size, will they go on a stock E-350, and is the ride any harder?

 

it took me 10 years to break down and buy rims because it has taken me that long to figure out what to do to improve the brakes on my van. i would have preferred to run 18's as that would have required minimal modifications if at all. i ended up having to trim the rear of the front fender wheel arch and using flares to finish off the fender so it kept the van lines more or less normal.
it was not my intention to "donk" my van - just the size of the brakes really forced me to go bigger in the wheel dept. and then i could not find what i wanted in 18's and then i got a killer deal on these wheels in 20x9 and 20x10 with the offset i wanted... plus i brain farted and decided i could go this way because i could buy 20" tires that would have the same diameter as the old 16's - cept i forgot to check close enough to their load rating. i could have gone with E's in back and D's up front and been pretty close to stock diameter. but i stuck with E's all around.

i can't answer anything about ride quality as i have not yet driven the van with these new skins.
front: LT 275/60-20 tires on 9x20 inch wheels
rear: LT 305/55-20 Nitto Dura Grapplers on 10x20 inch wheels

i am cutting the fenders today if i can get my wife's volvo fixed and happy. so here are a couple of pictures:

the back end has always ridden higher than the front - when i bought it the dealer had "fixed" one of the springs with a piece of flat bar...

can you post pics of the completed trim and install. I am wanting to do the same type setup only for added stability not bigger brakes. Really curious how this turned out.
