Broken Shifter

I broke the end off my shifter on my 99 F250SD AT. Grabbed the shift lever to put in in park and the plastic end snapped off right where it connects to the metal part of the shifter, I can see the wires for the tow/haul button and now the button dont work either , I think I broke one of the small wires. I just replaced the lamp on the end of the shifter a few weeks ago. not sure if this is a replaceable part or should I get a complete unit from the salvage yard, or maybe I can get that plastic assembly from ford ? I cant imagine it would be much fun if I have to fish the wires up thru the shifter. Any advise out there ?

you can buy the whole stalk, metal part and plastic part together, it is held in with a metal pin at the steering column and plugs in under the steering column.

Got a replacement from ford , 15 min job and it wasnt nearly as costly as I thought it would be , then again its nice to have friends that work at the dealership
