Blinking lights

I have a 1986 F250, 6.9, 4x4. The head lights will blink on and off from time to time. What is causing this?

also clean all the conections and the grounds by the head lights.my 81 gave me some grief with this, hit a bump lights go off,hit another lights go on.with corroded conections it will create resistance, which will draw more amps, hence tripping the circuit breaker.plus this only takes time and next to no money.

Also check the wires and the connector at the headlamp switch for possible heat damage.

Check the headlamp connections as mentioned above by "86bigred".

If the headlamp switch is really bad dirty, it would be wise to get another anyway.

Also check the dimmer switch on the floor for corosion, etc...

good luck.
