I know many different wing questions have been posed before, but here is mine...
I have an 86 F150 and it had the electronic AM/FM cassette player which had a short, it had the two receptacle hookups. I installed a new Kenwood CD player and I figured out the speaker wiring easily and thought I had the power memory hookups licked too but the stereo will not maintain memory. I hooked the battery wire from the Kenwood to the yellow/black wire from truck harness and the ignition wire to the green and purple (I think) wire. Where did I screw up? I am "electronically challenged" and any help is appreciated! There is also an blue/red wire which I didn't use.
I thought the red and blue wire played into it. Your best bet would be to probe each one with a test light or multi meter. Constand voltage with the key off will be the memory, and the voltage with the key on only will be wour switched power.
If I remember, it was hard to find the right schematic on the internet.
One thing I do with every truck I get is to pick up a secondary fuse box. You can usually get a six circuit box from a parts store for about $10. I just wire it straight to the battery and install it behind the brake pedal. That way I have an easily accessible constant 12 volt source that I can wire all kinds of accessories too. Each accessory is individually fused and it doesn't overtax any existing truck circuits.

The Light Blue/Red stripe wire is just for Radio Dial illumination only. Not used on a aftermarket radio.
