I'm having a problem with manual climate controls on my "05" superduty none of the control buttons will switch functions it won't go from defrost to dash vents or floor vents there is air blowing on the windshield thank goodness.
What could be the problem and how hard is it to fix as I am not much of a mechanic. Help

It means you have a vacuum leak. Defrost is the default position of the baffles, and the baffles are vacuum operated. So when there is not enough vacuum, you can't change the baffle position. Or even turn the hot water on for that matter.
Your vacuum problem could be a bad pump (it's electric on a diesel) or it could be a hose somewhere. The ones that go to the automatic locking hubs are particularly susceptible to breaking.
Like stated above, it could be a pump or a leak in one of the lines. Also, check the vacuum pump solenoid as well. Sometimes when a solenoid goes it takes the pump with it cause the pump never shuts off. I had to replace both the pump and the solenoid. Then my climate control worked as well as the auto hubs.
