1947 Ford Weight
Hey guys,
New here, just picked up 2 1947 Ford pickups, buy one get one free, and I can't find any specs on these trucks!
I need the total weight of the 47 with flat head 8 cylinder.
One of the trucks has a ford 289 and the other a flat head. Just looking for the weight to see if I can do something a little different in the engine bay.

Do you know if they are 1/2 ton trucks or larger?
Just a guess with the 1/2 ton, the GWV is 4700 LBS, so if you take off the 1/2 ton payload you would get a curb weight of about 3700. Its probably less than that but that's my guess :-)

Tommy, welcome to the site, I'm sure you'll find all the info you need here.
My '46 half ton, with the 6 cylinder flathead, was about 3000 lbs. The V8 models will weigh about the same, maybe just a little bit heavier, but not by much. Of course, these are 1/2 ton weights.

Thanks guys this is just what I needed. My trucks are 1/2 ton. The green one came with a 289 ford and the tan one came with a 8 cylinder flatty. Thanks again for your help! Tommy
