I have warn manual hubs and the passenger side is will vibrate when engaged 4WD and traveling over 5mph. It also vibrates if the hub is engaged and the transfer case is not and it also it if the transfer case is engaged and the hub is not. When everything is disengaged and free there is no problems at all
i am willing to bet that i am gonna have to replace the axle shaft. i had the other side done about a year ago and i don't think they have ever been greased in 170000 miles
every 30K they should be done...mine are a bit over due but it has been so cold out. trying to hold on till april.
ha tell me about it. I am gonna have to do this in my snowy muddy driveway. Do you have any idea how hard is it to change the outer shaft? or if i need any special tools?
ok i know it has been a while but this weather here is crazy! I pulled it apart and the needle bearing looked fine. it still had grease on it and everything so i took it to my local shop since i knew i needed my 4wd for these storms. They checked it out and said that it was actually my drive shaft making the noise and that they would need to pull it and send it out to be fixed.
fortunatly they said it would be fine to use in the snow. My house sits in the middle of a 200 acre field so the snow drifts here are insane
