I need to order some gauges, and one of them would be a boost gauge. I don't want to get a 100psi gauge and have the needle only move to 6psi or so, and I also don't want to get a 15 psi gauge if the thing is running 30 psi of boost. So how much boost does it make in stock form?
My stock gauge only goes to 40 psi and that is 5 psi into the "red". The most I've ever seen on my truck was in front of a 7k trailer going up an incline and that was only 20 psi. That only showed up right before I shifted into the next gear. I don't run mine very hard most of the time though. Normal boost for me is usually less than 10 psi.

In my 07 F250 6.0L, my boost gauge goes to 40. I'd advise the same with yours unless its chipped and can do higher than that or something. I can easily see 20, and I've crested 30 more than once.
I got a 40psi gauge, but if you're all stock you could get away with just a 30psi gauge. If you're boosting over 30psi something is wrong, should be 26-28 max.

Thanks for the input! Looking at the replies, I think I should be fine with the 35psi gauge. I do not want to run the truck over stock boost, as from what I understand the turbs are easily damaged on the 6.0. Thanks again guys, I am learning a LOT about my truck and how to prolong the motor life. I would love to see 300K out of it without a major issue.
Why not stick with the factory choice of 40psi? Sure, you'll probably never go above 35psi, but it could happen, and I'd rather know. Entirely stock engine will go over 30psi when towing, hauling, and/or under hard acceleration.

My truck does not have a factory boost gauge. I would get a 40, but I could not find a 40psi DiPricol, which is the series I have pretty much decided on due to the cost, quality, and OEM looking finish.
Firekite: Thanks. I think I can get it to do some good things if I treat the truck right and do some minor things such as EGR delete, proper servicing, oil bypass, keeping the truck mostly stock, and replacing the head studs with ARPs.

it will when there is something wrong with the rest of the system
