Anyone notice EGT's during the romps?

Started the truck up this morning (17deg) and i romped about 6 times but i noticed during the first 2 romps my gauge shot up to 1500! But the others were lower around 400-500. Thought it was weird and i've never heard anyone talk about it before. Everyone pay attention next time you get the romps and post what you see!

mine usually sit around 1000-1100 at sustained full go-pedal.

Not what the conversation is about. Strictly talking about what the EGT's read during "romps" at cold-start.

Back OT: I haven't romped in over a year, so can't help ya. I wonder if it could be a loose connection, as my EGT tops out when it's a bad signal to tell me something is wrong.

Sometimes when you start your truck (depending on what gauges you have) the needle will do a full sweep. That's probably why you saw such high temps.

Yeah thats got to be the gauge screwin around. . . there is no way the temps would go that high that quickly under those conditions.

It's gotta' be some sort of current drop causing that needle to swing. Tried to fire up before my WTS light went off to make it romp. Didn't do it. Why don't these things romp when you want 'em to?
