figured out my starter problem!

so after tapping my starter with a hammer and having it start up good again, i knew id have problem again. but after about a week or so if it working, i thought it might be ok. today after work i went to the car wash, left it running and sprayed it off-salt and all that- and then went down the street to the gas station, and shut er off. pumped my gas and jumped in. and "click". great. dad came up and towed me home

since my truck doesnt fit in our gargae, i crawled under it and started to take out the starter. and after the two bolt came out, the wire was still connected. kind of. the bolt and about three threads into it and it came out. so i took it out, cleaned up that terminal and actually tighted the bolt with some locktight on the threads and put it back in . starts like a dream! dam connections---tell you what

Did it make a clicking sound every time you would turn the key? mine is doing that an I think it might be the starter.
