Unhappy Starter issues

I recently had a problem with my truck not starting. When I turned the key,the starter would'nt engage, not even a click. I tried a few things, like moving the gear shifter to neutral, then back to park.Still it would'nt start. The batteries are new,and I had power everywhere else, dash indicator lights, buzzers, etc. I since replaced the starter. The truck started fine for awhile, now I'm back to the same problem again,no start! Could I have a bad relay? My truck does not have a fender mounted relay. Is it located in the fuse box under the dash? I checked the wire connections on the starter and the battery cables, all were tight. Am I missing something else? The truck is a '02 F-350. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would hold the key in the start position for 15 - 20 seconds next time it doesn't do anything, then jump out and feel the battery cable going down to the starter solenoid, then feel the soleniod and starter to see if anything feels hot. If it's hot to the touch, then a problem with the wiring or starter/solenoid is suspect. If everything is cold, then I'd start checking the stuff like the ignition switch or neutral safety switch.

i would check the relay to begin with then go from there. Also check to see if there are any corroded wires or maybe a bad ground
