Should I be worried

Well Im a union carpenter and at work we got a bunch of steel. Well when I was at school 2 weeks ago are welding teacher asked if my work would dontate any scrap steel for them to practice welding on. I told him I would ask. Well I got a bin and it weighs 1580 pounds. I got to go about 15 miles and its all freeway. Is this to much weight to put in the bed of my truck. I got a 04 f150 extended cab fx4 with the 5.4. Thanks guys

You will be just fine! I have a pallet of bags of Loam, weighing just at 2000 Lbs, in the back of my 2007 Screw from Home Depot loaded with a fork lift! I had to go 20 miles home, not a problem at all!

I have an '04 HD and do that weight a little on the light side, but then again mine is an HD F150. I travel with more, further, and quite often.

I didnt think it would. I put it in the back of my truck after work and it sat down alot. I noticed the passanger tire was low so I figured I would just come get it in the morning after I put some air in the tire. I didnt know how good it would be to let it sit in the back of the truck all night. Plus from work to my house is 35 miles and from my house to school is about 40 miles. Didnt want to do that much driving with it in the back.

I don't think you have to worry about the weight. I haul 1 yd of top soil regularly and it weights about 2000 or 2200 lbs depending how wet it is. I go 20-50 miles to work and sometimes I have that soil sits in the truck bed overnight ready for next day work. The truck handles beautifully and I swear it drives even better with the weight on. The only suggestion is to watch the braking distance. Don't tail gate anybody.

Don't worry be happy.
