btw, the walker y pipe is a good overall design, but... couldn't they have done better bends?!?!? I mean, mandrel bends are SOOOO much better for air flow, and if you're trying to get good air flow as I'm sure most people are who are putting on the efi manifolds with a carb application, I would think if you're gonna spend the money, get one that has better bends... just my $.02
It's hard to say. In 1980, the front axle completely changed, and that's the body style that the y-pipe is designed for. It's possible that it might bind/hit the front axle on the solid front axle of the 79 and prior trucks.
My guess is "no" or else they'd list it as a compatible year.

It will almost certainly work. The cross-member is what the exhaust has to bend to avoid hitting. The axle is a mile away by comparison.
