I've been a GM man all of my life (all 15 3/4 years of it), but I've inherrited my grandfather's '77 F-350 Camper Special (with nearly every extra available at the time) as a "going-back-to-school" present from my grandmother. It is in near perfect condition mechanically (it hasn't even hit 50k on the odometer yet!) but it has some rough cosmetic spots here and there. My question: where is the best place to accquire things like a headliner, carpet, and maybe, if I'm intrepid enough, a replacement stock stereo (yes... there HAS been leakage around the winshield)? I love this truck, and it would be a dream come true to fix it up a tad (it needs some wiring repair too) and drive it.
Josh,
Sounds like you've inherited a really nice truck. Its okay to love them all (Fords, Chevys and Chrysler).
I know the nicest carpets, molded for the truck's floorpan come from Auto Custom Carpets in Anniston, Alabama. This where all of the distributors get them, it seems. I have purchased three so far and my '79 F150 looks and fits very nice. It exactly matches the oem appearance.
ACC's phone number is 256-236-1118. I think they have a website too.
