I've gotten a lot of good responces to my problem. I'll get started on the old ford as soon as I have time. I'm working 12 on & 2 off so its tuff to find time to work on the truck especially when the wifes list is so long. I'll post what I find but it might take a while. Thanks for all your help.
Well shoot -12 on and 2 off. That thrity minutes to eat, thirty minutes to sleep, thirty minutes for the wife and thirty minutes for the thruck...I don't understand what the problem is.
LOL, I'm looking forward to seeing what you find out.
PS take 5 minutes from the wifes time and put it toward sleep. Tell her Julie said it's ok....She'll understand.
You should always do the cheapest easiest fixes first. How about the float level in the carb? If it's too, maybe the engine only runs good when its floored? Let us know what the fix is. Good luck, Jag
I don't think its the floats. It really runs smooth & sweet at all speeds. I work graveyard shift & took it to work. I live in colorado & that morning going home it 19 degrees outside. Even when its real cold she runs good. Ran good almost all the way home & then it started acting up. Its going to dry me to drink.
After hours & hours of trouble shooting I found my problem. I was going down the list that everyone suggested with nothing found execpt floats were a little off. I checked my timing to make sure it hadn't moved & its right where its should be, but my spark was intermitant. I checked all the cylinders & all would miss every now & again. It has to be my electronic module. I checked my magnetic pickup & the that was good. I'll get another one & install it when I get that thing called extra cash. Thanks for all your help.
