Info needed

Hey guys--

This forum is prominately mentioned in the article, so please let this notice stay.

I heard from the mag. The article (Life, and a truck named DD) should be at the news stands by mid April. It is going to be in True Blue Trucks, and, I believe, but am not certain, Bronco Driver. This forum made it, and my build, possible.
I am now working a follow up 'how to' article, concentrating on the 300. Since I am not an expert, I find I need a bit of help about something: why do so many builders use the 352, 390 pistons? Is it question of quality, larger bore, availability, cost, or all of the above?

Also, I desperately need photos of a 300 block with the 352 or 390 pistons in it. IM me and you may be in the Mag. Cheers.

Thanks for the help.

Kevin

A guy who went by the moniker 'slow' built a 300 for use with propane and swapped the 400 out of his dentside 4x4 and put that engine in. He used 352 pistons with the crowns milled to a zero deck and he had pics of his engine build. Even CC'd each valve relief in the post-milling 352 pistons (came to 4cc per relief he said) to make sure his compression was right. Anyway, he had a perfect picture of a headless block will milled 352 pistons installed. I've been searching for the last half hour trying to find that thread and I can't see it. I have tried fordsix (no Slow is registered there) and here (Slow is registered here but hasn't posted since 2008). Too bad, he would have the pictures you need. Good luck

I guess his last post was 08-22-2009 @ 2:31 A.M.

PM him, he might actually get it. Plus he would probably be surprised as heck you're asking him about his old project

TWO articles! neat. May B U can develop a column.

OK, April or May issue of True Blue Trucks. (BD comes to the house, #3 on - so that's all set). Thanks - that's the info asked 4/needed.

Enjoy the process.

91Bronc--

Thanks for the heads up. I'll certainly try to contact him. (I hope this article (2) will increase the popularity of the inline, and make my parts less expensive!! Yeah!
