hi i have the 97 f250 hd with f350 suspen and axles but i dont know if the 250 hd is the same frame as a 350. i would like to know because i woud like to put a dump body on it. also does any1 lnow what size dump body i should be looking for. i have an 8 foot bed. i dont have any experience with installing dump bodies so any assistance is great help....also if my frame isnt as strong as an f350 can i still use a dump on my frame; it is solid with no rot
The F250 HD is the same as the F350 except the rear axle has a 2" block rather than a 4" block. The front axle on the 250 is a Dana 50 TTB while the 350 got a solid axle. The front axle is what gives the F350 the higher weight capacity. Everything else is equal including the frame and dimensions. I can't help with the dump body specifically however.
I am in the process of installing a dump body on a '10 f550 for a customer. Obviously this truck is a chassis cab (all f550s are) and is quite a bit heavier than your truck but it is 60CA where as most long bed pick-ups are 56CA. Typically we install 9 ft dump beds on these trucks but you might not want to go that long. You might look into finding a dually rear axle also if you don't have one already. That's a "either do it now or you'll wish you had" suggestion. I could suggest a bed but without knowing your budget it would be pretty vague.
thanks alot blankem i just bought a 97 f superduty 7.3 diesel with stake body so i figd i would flip it or i may want to put the dump on that. but more than likely i will lookinto a dump for the other truck still i would like a used one. but ill look into that a bit later after i sell the new to me truck.but least i know the frame of my truck is the same as a 350 .and thats a insanely nice looking truck in that pic. i need the dump for roofing so im gonna look into the heavy duty dumps
