hi everyone trying to plug in my cell phone charger and found out that i have no power to the cig lighter all the fuses are good and everything else on that fuse works any ideas? thanks Mike

does the cig lighter work? My cell phone power cord is a very tight fit in the socket .. I need to wiggle it and give a 'real firm' push to get it to work .. otherwise check the wiring to the 'outlet' ..

well the cig lighter can put quite a load on the wires .. the may have 'melted' out .. but the fuse should have blown ..
if you don't smoke and don't need the lighter, the easy way out is to just tap into another hot (+12v) and re-wire the lighter socket from there .. but I'd be cautious using the cig lighter with these as you could overload the circuit ..

If you look at the wire going into the back of the cigarette lighter and try to follow it to the fuse block which if like my F250 is right nearby, you could use a test light or multimeter to check for power on the wire right after the fuse block. If I understand right, the fuse block gets power from a main, then splits it out, so if the fuse is good you should definitely have power coming out. Could be the cigarette adapter itself, or the wire inbetween, but I'd definitely test the line coming out of the block for power.

check the wire in the back of the cig lighter if the ash tray was pulled all the way out the wire will pull off or it can rip the wire. you can just pull the try right out and look.

Does it have the stock radio? Chances are, someone tapped into the cig plug power line for the radio and didn't re-connect the lighter.
