I have a 77 F100 2wd with a 3speed column shifted manual. I would like to swap up to a C4. What parts do I need for the swap besides the C4 a torque converter, and a transmission linkage. I think I heard somewhere that I would need a new steering column.
Also, how much does a good, remanufactured C4 cost?
On top of what you mention, you will need to change your column and swap the manual pedal assembly for an auto version. The easiest way to perform this swap is to buy a donor truck which has all the items you need. It will be more costly otherwise and less convenient. Make sure you get one with a good trans.

Good Post Stockie My man, I might suggest that the donor have the same engine as in his truck, so kick down connectors and carbs be like the ones needed.
Don't forget the radiator with cooling lines for an auto (or at least an aftermarket cooler), a shifter for an automatic, and this I'm not sure on in your application but possible driveline yoke swaps or driveline modifications. Ah yes, will also need a flywheel for an automatic and don't forget to wire in a "neutral start safety switch".
Here, Here, Good shot man. Thats the reason that I say, BUY A DONOR, There are too many things to try to remember to get and could cause too many trips. Don't forget the pilot bearing must be removed.
FYI: The straight has a fly wheel, the auto is called a flexplate.
