but i cant find it in the archives. What sets the FE engines apart from the 351, etc? Is the 302 considered a FE block? Thanks for typing again

The FE series was introduce in 1958 in passenger cars and ended in 1971. In light trucks, the FE was introduced in 1965 and was used untill 1976. In MD and HD trucks, it was used from 1964 to 1978.
Sizes included the 330, 332, 352, 359, 360, 361, 390, 391, 406, 410, 427, and the 428.
On these engines, the intake manifold runs down past the valve cover into the head. The top third of the valve cover seals against the head. The pushrods run through the head as well.
The FE/FT series is considered a Y-block design, meaning the crank is located up inside the block. Most other Ford engines located the crank even with the oil pan rail.

No Sir pm, the The FE is a big block, and the 302-351 is a small block. You may check www.wrljet.com at engines for family grouping.

I hope that helps.
