Hy again,
i just will mention the reason of my work today.
As John says the part # for the tach sensor is E5TZ-17B384-A
I bought one by the local Ford dealer for $73.99 plus tax.
after if installed it the tacho works fine as well the OD light stayes off and the automatic transmission shifts ok.
what i finally did was erasing the computer memory and pull the code out again.
I got a 11 whitch means everyting is ok (please remember to push the throttle to the max.)
Many thanks for everybody's support and i hope sombody else get helped with this thread in future.
OK,the tach doesn't work all the time and when it does,it says the idle is around 300 rpm.I would like to be sure I need the sensor before spending the $ for it.
You can test the sensor. Take it out and hold it in the air away from any metal. Using a ohm meter place one lead on each wire connector. You need DC resistance between 2000-3000 ohms.
