Rear heater control question.

My rear heater controls only work on the HI speed position no matter where I move the **** to. Could that be the switch, or something back at the blower itself? Anybody ever have this problem?

I'm thinking there is a voltage divider resistor that controls fan speed which would be in the rear blower box, not 100% sure but is a place to start. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I went through the same thing a few months back, start with the resistor which is under the hood near the P/s wheelwell in the same housing as the blower motor. Its a little tricky to get to but its only two bolts. I had to end up replacing my blower motor as well due to the lower portion of it rotting out causing it to short out. My total cost was about 150.00 doing the work myself, and as of this date heat is working fine.

It appears as though the High Speed Auxiliary A/C Relay located in then left rear of the vehicle is stuck in the High Speed fan position. The contacts probably welded themselves in that position and the relay is no longer switching when power is removed from its coil. At least, that is the first thing I would check.

Left rear, as in the drivers side rear? Do I need to pull an access panel or something?
