oh,no.i havn't got this one on the road yet.
she's needed some work,and i put a dump bed on it.
here we need inspection and it wouldn't pass.
now iv just got the lites for the bed on order,and a controller for the dump.
some good tires.so hopefully all goes well,and i pass inspection(havn't tried yet,as i knew it wouldn't pass) and be on the road with her for the first time since ownership,sometime next week.

mine wont go past 3500rpm got a rev limiter on it i guess it kinda stalls the engine wont go any faster

LOL it's called a govenor and it keeps you from killing the engine.

ford governored all of them between 3300-3800 they last forever this way
I-H set them to about 2800- they last even longer than forever

my 89 is set to 3800 from factory not touched,

my 86 came at 3300- its a little higher now......... but its still holding together

Where do you get the parts to raise the rpm speed on the governor and what is involved in installing them.

I very seldom bump my governor in any of my trucks big or little.
I wouldn't dream of messing with my rpms on my Idi before I stud the heads. and that won't happen until I either have headgasket trouble or have to rebuild it. I have run diesels of one kind of another for over 30 years so my right foot knows how to govern one, but I wouldn't set it high enough to do any damage because someone else might drive it.

no,though i thought about it,and looked a little bit while i was ordering.but i'm so exited to get it on the road,i ordered quickly so they would be here monday.
i'v been sleepless/restless watching ups tracking ever since lmao!

the lites are:
Truck-Lite model # 14
so i just grabbed what i needed and a spare red and amber to have on hand.
as well as new plugs so i can wire it all up new.
they are like 2" high and 4" long.

i would like to go LED sometime.but figured i can mess after inspection,and be on the road.
if you know where to find these size LED's let me know.

You could simply put high output led bulbs in those housings. Try these guys if you just want the bulbs

they are in an enclosed housing.can't replace just bulbs.

So you have to replace the whole darn thing if the bulb burns out... that doesn't sound right. Only sealed housing I have seen is on led's.

yeah.luckily only needed a couple tho and 2 spares.
like 3 bucks each or something.
# Long-life 15,000 hour 12 volt bulb -- so that's good.
