Don't do the intake. That's a waste of money. The stock filter is more then enough. A/M filters don't flow more then stock until you hit 3700 on the tach and a stock or tuned 6.0 makes peak hp and tq at 3300 and 2000 respectively. This isn't getting into filtration either, which also favors stock. They got the stock filter right this time. Tell him not to waste the money. Spend it towards tunes. There are people that have more hp then I(508) and still use stock filters.

I don't have a kitty under my truck, but I did it to lower my EGT while towing. I'm still running the factory 3" to 3.5" pipes all the way under the truck. At some point I'm going to go a/m on the exhaust but it isn't high on the list of mods right now. There are guys that run MBRP, there are other brands & styles. It all depends on what your willing to spend and what's legal where you live.

Now we just gotta get the V-10 guys to admit it! Seroiusly, he should join here as there is alot he needs to learn to keep his truck running right. Remember 3F's -proper fluids, filters and fuel. NO WILL-FITS! Gauges before tuner, coolant bypass filter, CCV reroute, man we got alot of his money to spend!

Don't forget Fuel Regulated Return. I'm a firm believer in that mod.

It all depends on the situation. If you are talking about hooking up a 6.0 onto an engine dyno next to a v10, looking at HP numbers then no. But if it's truck v. truck, then it would just depend.

I would say you would have a good bit of an edge on someone with a v10. But without knowing more about what all y'all were doing, I couldn't get more definitive then that.

The V10 guys have us beat in the Hp department; but not in the torque. If your talking about straight off the showroom floor both pulling the same load...I think it would be a tie. It's my understanding the V10 automatically gets a lower rear end (4.10) compared to the 6.0L (3.73). Where the 6.0L will excel is better fuel mileage and should have a longer engine life.

All true, but the one thing that most people don't mention when they talk about this little contests is driver's ability. I mean there is only so much you can do with what you have, but if you don't know how to probably handle it, then that makes it even worse. I've beaten some people off the line, not hauling any weight, but they just didn't know how to drive their vehicle.

Im a fan of the MBRP. Thats what most ford diesel owners run if they have am exhausts.

Tex whats the Fuel Regulated Return?

As for a 6.0 takin the V-10, that also depends on wheather the V-10 is a 2v or 3v. 2v's make 310 hp and 425 Foot pounds and 3v's make 362 hp and 457 foot pounds. I use to drive a 2v excursion and my 6.0 hands down i think would beat it. But then i have never driven a 3v v-10. The V-10 may have the 6.0 off the line because of the turbo lag, but once that turbo spools i think itd be over with
