Downpipe question

What size downpipe fit in a 97 F350 without modding the firewall?

Who's down pipe do you recommend for the best fit?

All new to Power Strokes, and that looks like a good first mod to me.

I was actually wondering the same thing myself. I really don't want to have to beat the crap out of the firewall.

So that's pretty simple to do then? I don't really want to do complicated.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CUT THE SEEM ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FIREWALL ON EACH SIDE OF THE OF THE DP AND BEND IT

Might want to seal the bare metal with some high temp paint to prevent rust. The Diamond Eye is what I got. Extremely reasonable on ebay. If your looking for a downpipe only get ahold of Dale Isley at Tymar.

I see no price on the Diamond Eye pipe, MBRP looks like the same pipe for 86 dollars and change.

I did look at Banks and Hypermax, they both were over 140 dollars and again looked like the same pipe.

Can the firewall insulation stay there, or does part of that have to go as well?

Is it harder with an auto with the dipstick? I think I heard something about having to bend the dipstick tube.

I got the tymar 3-4 inch 2 piece one. It's one piece now since I welded up all the exhaust a few days ago. It took very little bending of the firewall to fit it but all trucks are different.
I forget the brand of the 4 inch system he sold me but it was all well worth the money.

You can download the instructions from the Banks website. It's for the whole package but the exhaust instructions are in there. Gives you a good idea what is involved I should have stated I have the complete Diamond Eye exhaust system.
