Alright guys i just got a wrecked 96 psd with a manuel trains that has 140.000 on the clock for free. Mine is a 97 with an auto i would love to have the manuel. what i'm i getting into and how bad is it to do
Since you got all the parts (hopefully they're not broken), it's probably a long weekend or two to swap out the mechanical parts. Someone else here will have to tell you if there are any differences in the engine electronics. Are both trucks 2wd or 4x4? You'd need to rebuild that 5spd and get a new rear housing cover to convert it from 2wd to 4x4 (or back).
What I'm really interested in are all the extra spare parts you're gonna list here for sale. (I need a gray dashpad)
Wont be too bad I would assume since you have the donor truck. I am interested too in any spare parts you might be selling. What are you going to do with your old AT?
From everything that i have read it isnt that bad of a job, as long as you have a donor truck to get all of the parts that you need from. I dont remember the whole parts list but your going to need all of the obvious parts to switch over and then also the PCM and a few wother smaller things IIRC. How bad was the truck wrecked and where are you located?
they are bath 2wd the truck was fliped the windows were busted and its been sitting for about 8 months and the dash is cracked in two spots / i'm keeping the ENG./the auto will be for sale it's new with less than 5k on it as of now also has a bully dog shift kit i've got 3k tide up in the trains/ the rest will be sold
Are you sure about cutting holes for the shifter? My 2wd truck has the 4x4 manual shifter hole in it, but with a blank cover plate screwed and glued under the carpet.
