My F350 is acting weird...I have juice at the lights radio etc, but nothing to the starter (no click nothing) we jumped the fender mounted relay (switch) and she starts to turn over. So I replaced the relay with a heavy duty (since I just replaced this one a few miles ago) and nothing! It still turns over if we jump it but thats the only way. Now why would that be if the switch only seperates the power in the start mode...odd isn't it. Suggestions?
If you can solenoid tap it and make it turn over it leads me to believe the problem is between the ignition switch and the solenoid.
I believe the top small wire on that solonoid is the ignition one, unplug it and use a test light on the connector while someone turns the key over for you... if you get no juice then that's the problem. I would then check for juice coming out of the ignition switch... if you get none then replace that switch or have it tested.
EDIT: Also if your truck is an automatic it could be the neutral safety switch giving you problems.
